The Artistic Journey of Franco G. Arce
Franco G. Arce is a film director, writer, and producer with a diverse background in theater, TV, and film. His artistic journey began as a theater artist in “Dulaang Balintataw” and “Actor’s Medium,” where he honed his craft and developed a profound appreciation for the power of drama. He produced theater plays as artistic director of Tambuli Theater Productions Philippines during the early 2000’s and staged notable theater productions such as “Mga Santong Tao”, “Taong Grasa”, “Les Malentendu”, “Sa Pula, Sa Puti”, “Honeymoon”, and more.
When he worked as a segment producer for block-time television magazine shows like “KidsTV” and “DoubleTeam,” Franco discovered his passion for digital media. This newfound interest led him to pursue filmmaking, and he embarked on an inspiring path, working on various film productions, ranging from local independent films to mainstream movies and even collaborating on international projects such as “Baseco: Bakal Boys,” “Grave Mistake,” “Lilet Never Happened,” and “My Little Bossings.”
With eagerness to improve his storytelling skills, Franco seized the opportunity to participate in the scriptwriting workshop under the tutelage of the esteemed national artist for film, Mr. Ricky Lee. This invaluable experience broadened his creative horizons and enhanced his storytelling aptitude.
Drawing from his diverse background in theater, television, and film, Franco’s artistic experiences serve as a solid foundation for his role as a writer, director, and producer. His most recent work was the full-length feature film titled “Juan Balucas at ang Bayabas,” which has been warmly received by its audiences through successful block screenings in cinemas across the country.
Franco is currently working on three full-length film projects: ‘NONI: Rise of Burak,’ which offers a new perspective within the Juan Balucas franchise, ‘Prank Wars!,’ a lighthearted comedy film about two families engage into a clash because of a prank, and ‘Tatay sa Taas‘, an inspirational drama with elements of light comedy film about Acceptance, Healing, and Transformative Human Connections.

Global Impact: Domination World Championships (DWC)
Franco’s journey transcended borders when he assumed the role of International Event Director for the Domination World Championships (DWC), an annual international hip-hop dance competition based in Brisbane, Australia. DWC attracted dancers from various countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Japan. This event showcased incredible talent and passion within the hip-hop community and ran for three years, from 2017 through 2019. Under Franco’s visionary leadership, DWC became a platform for excellence, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
DWC represented the pinnacle of human achievement, where competitors pushed their limits, celebrated diversity, and inspired others. It united people across cultures, fostering a sense of shared purpose and mutual respect, creating impactful experiences on a global stage.
Bakood Festival
As the Production Manager for the Bakood Festival under Jingleman You Win! Productions, Franco played a pivotal role in orchestrating a vibrant celebration of culture, music, and community. From coordinating logistics to ensuring seamless performances, his dedication left a lasting impact on festival-goers and participants alike. The festival, catered by the then Municipal Government of Bacoor, remains a cherished memory for all who attended.
Puso Para sa Bayan Caravan
Franco’s meticulous planning during the Puso Para sa Bayan Caravan contributed significantly to its success. This initiative with a country-wide coverage, organized by the J.C. Binay Foundation, touched hearts and inspired positive change. The caravan aligned with the foundation’s mission of serving the community, and Franco’s behind-the-scenes efforts were instrumental in creating a meaningful experience for all involved.
Empowering Aspiring Filmmakers: Short Film Making Workshop
Organized by the Municipal Government of San Mateo Rizal, Franco provided a comprehensive lecture on the fundamentals of filmmaking for the constituents of San Mateo Rizal. The workshop equipped aspirants with essential knowledge for creating short films, preparing them for the Short Filmmaking Contest, which was part of the Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain activity held at SM San Mateo during the closing of the National Arts Month celebration. This educational initiative beautifully showcased the local government’s commitment to nurturing artistic talent.
